Whether it’s a dirty car, a messy kitchen or a moldy bathroom, it seems there’s always some kind of cleaning to do in and around the home to get it in tip top condition. We spend hours of our lives manually scrubbing which can be tiring, especially on hard to remove stains, and what’s more the power we put into it can end up damaging surfaces accidentally.
Sure, we can hire a professional cleaner with all of the products and tools to tackle cleaning our home, but over time that adds up to thousands of dollars spent on tasks we could have just done ourselves if we had the right equipment. That’s where electric scrubbers come in.
Electric scrubbers have always been popular with professionals because it adds a much-needed level of power to cleaning tasks. From getting into those corners to buffing tiles and removing soap scum, a bathroom scrubber is something everyone should have in their cleaning kit. Electric scrubbers have always been priced highly because of the superior level cleaning they provide, but now they are much more accessible to the average person with lower prices.
We scoured many internet shopping sites to find the best all-round electric scrubber. We ordered a bunch of different ones and put them to the test on all sorts of tasks such as grills and hobs, showering areas, car exteriors and much more. We ranked them in a variety of ways such as price and cleaning power, and we’ve displayed the results here for you so you can choose the best electric scrubber for your needs.

When you choose to invest in an electric scrubber for your home or cleaning business there’s a few things you should look out for to help you make an informed choice. Firstly, you need to know the scrubbing power it will deliver and this is measured in RPM (revolutions per minute). RPM is basically just how many times it spins around per minute and a high RPM will spin rapidly to clean the area.
The next thing to consider is battery life and chargeability. Ideally you want a scrubber that doesn’t take too long to charge and gives you at least an hour of cleaning time. The last thing you want is to be halfway through cleaning the tub and your electric scrubber needs charging for 6 hours to be able to finish it. All of the products we tested had good charging ports and made it easy to just plug in and forget about.
Ergonomics plays a big role in decision making too. You need something that feels good in the hand and that can be used for an hour without causing discomfort. The long brush attachments of the Casabella Power Spin Scrubber can make your arm ache if used for too long, and the thick chunky handle of the Untovei just didn’t feel right for certain tasks.
The final thing to check for is the noise level as it is a spinning motor inside these products and some of them can be quite loud. Products like the Horsepower Scrubber and Klever were quiet and made cleaning a pleasure but others we tested sounded like you had an electric drill in your hand!
After 3 days of testing multiple products one electric scrubber reigned supreme – the Horsepower Scrubber. There was so much to like about this product and something that stood out to us was the number of interchangeable heads provided with each of the products. Some, like the Black & Decker Scrubber only had one soft head, but others like the Untovei had 8 supplied. However if you look at what came with the Untovei, for example, all 8 interchangeable heads are virtually the same but just in different shapes.
What we loved about the Horsepower Scrubber was that it came with 5 distinctive heads that were specially designed for each task, not all just different shapes. There’s a microfiber polishing head for things like wooden mantelpieces that need a gentler motion, then you have a stainless steel brush to tackle tough burns on food inside an oven, but then again they provide scouring sponge perfect for kitchen and bathroom surface. The SmartFlex brush they include is ideal for corners which other models like the Klever failed at.
We found that power was a big factor in our decision making as an electric scrubber with a low RPM such as the Black & Decker Scrubber we reviewed which has a pathetic 160 RPM speed it’s not going to provide sufficient power to remove dirt and grime from the surface.
Alternatively, if you go for something with a very high RPM like the Untovei Scrubber which has a maximum of 460 RPM you need to be very careful of using something this powerful for lighter tasks. The Untovei we trialed damaged one of our test surfaces using the scrubbing brush at this speed. Something in the middle such as the Horsepower Scrubber provides that perfect balance and makes it appropriate for all kinds of tasks.
Everything from the powerful nature of the Horsepower Scrubber to its ability to tackle mold and dirt that regular scrubbing couldn’t remove made our decision quite easy. There were lots of other features too that swayed us to crowning the Horsepower Scrubber as our top choice, not least because it was submersible so allowed us to clean the water marks around the edge of a pool and we never had to worry about it getting wet when cleaning the car exterior like some of the others.
If you want to grab the Horsepower Scrubber click the link above as it’s on at a discounted half price while stock lasts and there’s even a 30-day money back guarantee if you’re not completely satisfied.
